Privacy Policy
Flatscan is built as a local-first document scanner and searchable archive. This policy explains what the app processes on your device, what we do not collect, and the limited situations where information may leave your device.
Pre-launch note: the final publishing legal entity will be added before App Store submission. Contact is already live at [email protected].
Summary
Flatscan stores scanned documents, thumbnails, OCR text, search index data, document titles, Trash state, and exported PDF files locally on your iPhone or iPad. The app does not upload your document images, OCR text, document titles, search queries, or local archive to a Flatscan server.
Flatscan does not use an analytics SDK, advertising SDK, third-party crash reporting SDK, remote configuration service, or third-party purchase SDK in v0.1.

Apple StoreKit and subscriptions
Flatscan Pro subscriptions are handled through Apple StoreKit and the App Store. Apple processes payment details and App Store account information. Flatscan uses StoreKit to load products, start purchases, restore purchases, and check whether Pro is active.
We do not receive your payment card number from Apple. Apple may provide transaction and subscription entitlement information needed to operate the subscription.
Manual exports and sharing
When you export or share a PDF, the document goes to the destination you choose in the iOS share sheet, such as Files, iCloud Drive, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or another installed app. Those destinations are controlled by Apple or by the destination app, not by Flatscan.
If you export to Files or iCloud Drive, documents follow your Apple iCloud settings. For end-to-end iCloud Drive protection, enable Advanced Data Protection for iCloud in your Apple Account settings.
Support requests
If you contact support, we may receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message text, screenshots, app version, device model, iOS version, or attached files. Flatscan does not attach documents, PDFs, OCR text, screenshots, or logs automatically.
Diagnostics
Flatscan does not include a third-party crash reporting SDK in v0.1. Apple may provide crash logs, performance data, or TestFlight feedback to developers through App Store Connect or TestFlight when users share diagnostics with Apple.
Data retention and deletion
Documents and local metadata stay on your device until you delete them, purge them from Trash, delete the app, or erase the device. If you export a document to another location, deleting it from Flatscan does not delete the exported copy from that destination.
