This page tracks privacy-relevant Flatscan changes so data-handling updates are easy to review.
May 26, 2026 - Public privacy pages added
The public site now has dedicated pages for Privacy Policy, Terms, Support, Network Transparency, Changelog, and Privacy Changelog.
May 2026 - Support email context added
Settings -> Support can prepare an email to [email protected] with app version, iOS version, device model, and subscription state. The app does not attach documents, PDFs, OCR text, screenshots, or logs automatically.
Current privacy invariants for v0.1
- No document uploads to a Flatscan server.
- No analytics SDK in the iOS app.
- No advertising SDK.
- No third-party crash reporting SDK.
- No remote configuration service.
- No RevenueCat or other third-party purchase SDK.
- OCR uses Apple's on-device Vision framework.
- StoreKit 2 handles subscriptions through Apple.
- Search index data is local and derived from local document data.
- Manual exports go only to destinations the user chooses.
What requires a changelog entry
Any new SDK, network domain, analytics or diagnostics collection, server-side document processing, cloud sync, app-owned account system, automatic support attachment, or App Store privacy questionnaire change should be documented here.
