Protected storage is separate from the ordinary Flatscan archive. Document pages, thumbnails, titles, OCR text, notes, folder names, and search data are encrypted on your device and are revealed only after you unlock the protected space.

What is encrypted in protected storage?
Pages, thumbnails, document titles, OCR text, notes, protected folder names, and the protected catalog are encrypted on the device.
Can protected documents appear in ordinary search?
No. Protected text is searched in memory only while the protected archive is unlocked. Ordinary search does not contain protected titles or OCR text.
What happens when my Pro subscription ends?
You can still open, export, delete, and remove protection from existing content. Pro is required only to create protected folders or add more content.
How do I move protected documents to another device?
Create an explicit password-protected Flatscan backup after authenticating. The destination device creates fresh encryption keys during restore. Flatscan cannot recover a forgotten backup password.
